The project concerns the renewal (morphological and functional) of a two-storey existing building on the ring road Larissa – Nice, which already housed an educational institute.

Requirement is the complete reorganization of all internal spaces and infrastructure, and the partial change of the building facades, so that the building in its final form to represent the modern educational AKMI profile, under the aegis of which will thereafter be operate the facilities.

The building volumes are highlighted by windows shaped with different logic in relation to the existing ones. Elsewhere they appear as intensely elongated rectangles, elsewhere they lose their rectangular form with deviation from the vertical, in other areas they are unified visually. Without reducing lighting or ventilation of classrooms.

We implement perforated panels covering part of the face, which have eccentric shapes and bright colors. Internally, classrooms, laboratories, supporting offices and utility rooms reorganized following the requirements of the educational institution. It is ultimately an attempt to recreate without substantial structural character interventions, floor plans and building facades that time has surpassed.

However, with bold moves and non-stereotypical design options, the building may present interest to the modern image that ultimately acquire and a landmark of the area.
